Artist's Description
There is little that fascinates me more than the world of deep sea creatures. Void of the sun's light, the deep sea is mostly a black abyss. Yet, light does exist in this realm, coming from the bioluminescent creatures living within it. This painting kicks off a new series exploring deep sea animals. Based on both photo references and my imagination, it is a "family album" tribute to the mysterious community of bioluminescent creatures.

I've been creating art since I was a kid. It's something that has always been good medicine for me. My images are often created intuitively from my imagination. Inspired by the natural world, I think about the things I've experienced as I paint or draw. Before I realize it, I've drifted away from this world for a while.
