Corolla is a botanical term referring to the inner envelope of floral leaves in a flower. The movement implied in my corolla is slow and fluid, as if the object has been slowed by the weight of itself or is in fact underwater. There is a connection to the sea and underwater life that is a common theme in my work. Red corolla could be interpreted as a botanical image. Then again, red corolla may illustrate the folds of a nesting octopus.

I've been creating art since I was a kid. It's something that has always been good medicine for me. My images are often created intuitively from my imagination. Inspired by the natural world, I think about the things I've experienced as I paint or draw. Before I realize it, I've drifted away from this world for a while.
