Inspired by a wild boar hunt I experienced in Fiji, tusks explores the sensation of being a predator tracking her prey. The hunt was empowering, and tapped into primal feelings I had never sensed before. Exploring the jungle with my fearless hunter guide and his two dogs was an unforgettable adventure. A boar can furiously pierce and slice the flesh of his adversary with intimidating tusks when threatened. Often, the hunting dogs are the first to receive the boar�s wrath in a pig hunt. The scene can quickly change from a quiet stalk or ambush to a sudden eruption of violence and screams as the hunter and the hunted engage in a fight to the death.

I've been creating art since I was a kid. It's something that has always been good medicine for me. My images are often created intuitively from my imagination. Inspired by the natural world, I think about the things I've experienced as I paint or draw. Before I realize it, I've drifted away from this world for a while.
