As a diver, I never lack sources of inspiration. I’ve seen some unbelievable things in the ocean: mollusks, soft corals, sea snails, and sponges of great variety, colors, and textures, all living together in what we know as a coral reef. When observed in their natural environments, these creatures can be difficult to distinguish from each other. Many are splendidly camouflaged and most are soft, fleshy, and mysterious. Together, they exist harmoniously as a community of sea life. They can be found in male and female forms, sometimes remarkably within the same creature.

I've been creating art since I was a kid. It's something that has always been good medicine for me. My images are often created intuitively from my imagination. Inspired by the natural world, I think about the things I've experienced as I paint or draw. Before I realize it, I've drifted away from this world for a while. When I return, I always feel a little better, more grounded, and connected to spirit. As much as I love to paint, I am also in love with creating children's books.
